Outbound Cost in Israel 2026: In-House SDR vs Agency
The tools are cheap. Almost embarrassingly cheap. Salary, the months before someone new brings in meetings, and management hours set the cost, and none of them is on a pricing page.
One irony I'm aware of: an article about prices, without ours. Pricing depends on your channels, volume and goals. You'll get a clear number on the call, with no hidden fees. Every other number here has a source and a date.
What makes up the cost of outbound?
Outbound costs come in five layers: people, data, email infrastructure, LinkedIn tools, and the time before any of it produces meetings.
In Israel, people and time are paid in shekels and months, and everything else in dollars, per user, inbox or profile (what outbound is).
How much does an SDR cost in Israel?
According to Drushim's 2026 salary table, a high-tech salesperson with one to three years of experience earns ₪10,000-12,000 a month.
An SDR (Sales Development Representative) owns the first outreach and books the meeting (the role, and when to outsource it). Drushim, an Israeli job site, uses data from the placement firm Jobinfo and has no SDR row, so I used the closest one. Payscale puts the average SDR base salary in Israel at ₪135,749 a year, about ₪11,300 a month, as of December 2025, though from only 47 reports.
That's gross pay. Employer costs come on top: pension, severance, National Insurance, and at many companies a study fund (keren hishtalmut). Drushim notes that bonuses and commissions are a large share of sales pay. Add a laptop, a CRM license and a senior colleague's onboarding hours.
How much do the tools and infrastructure cost?
A single tool runs from $7 per inbox to $119.99 per user a month, but nearly all are priced per user, inbox or profile, so the bill grows with volume.
Vendor prices at the end of October 2026, before tax and promotions. From Israel, Google shows prices in euros, so its dollar figures come from the help center.
| Item | Price | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Google Workspace Business Starter inbox | $7 per user a month on an annual commitment, $8.40 on the Flexible plan | Google help center |
| Microsoft 365 Business Basic inbox | $7 per user a month, from July 1, 2026 | Microsoft |
| Secondary .com domain at Porkbun | $11.08 a year | Porkbun |
| Instantly Growth, sending and warm-up | $47 a month billed monthly, unlimited inboxes and warm-up, up to 1,000 contacts and 5,000 emails a month | Instantly |
| Sales Navigator Core, LinkedIn lead search | $119.99 a month, or $1,079.88 a year | |
| HeyReach Growth, LinkedIn automation | $79 a month per sender profile, billed monthly | HeyReach |
Inboxes and domains surprise people most. You send from secondary domains, never your main one, and each inbox sends a limited number a day, so volume sets how many you need. Our setup, for example, is 100 Outlook and Google Workspace inboxes on secondary domains, 14 days of warm-up, and SPF, DKIM, DMARC and MX records in place before the first message (domain warm-up guide).
LinkedIn is billed per user (Sales Navigator) and per sending profile (HeyReach), and outreach from the sender's existing profile needs no new account and no warm-up (how we run LinkedIn). Data is hardest to price in advance, since databases like Apollo and email verification tools bill by credits.
How much does an outbound agency charge?
An outbound agency charges in one of four structures: a monthly retainer, a price per meeting, a hybrid, or a setup fee on top of one of them.
- Monthly retainer. The same amount every month. Easy to budget, and a weak month stays on your bill.
- Price per meeting. The vendor absorbs the weak month and prices that risk in. Check whether you pay per meeting booked or held.
- Hybrid. A monthly base plus a fee per meeting, so both sides share the risk.
- Setup fee. A one-time payment for domains, inboxes, warm-up and the first list. If it's missing, ask where that cost is hiding.
Lead vendors that charge per lead sell a different product: a name and contact details. An outbound agency is paid for the conversation that opens after the message.
Which model is cheapest depends on how many good meetings each brings, so pick the structure after the math below.
What hidden costs does outbound have?
Four costs appear on no price list: ramp time, management hours, burned domains, and an SDR who leaves.
The Bridge Group's 2025 report, a survey of 351 B2B companies, found that a new SDR takes three months on average to fully ramp and stays in the role 1.9 years on average. Only 60% hit quota, the lowest since the research began. I found no Israeli equivalent, so treat these as a reference point.
I first thought burned domains were the heaviest. Wait, no. A blocklisted domain gets replaced and the new one warmed from scratch (why it happens). An SDR leaving hurts more. After about two years you rehire, ramp starts over, and what they learned about your audience without writing it down leaves with them.
Then management: approving messages, reading replies, fixing lists. In a small company that's often the founder, whose hours cost the most and never get invoiced.
How do you calculate cost per sales meeting?
Cost per sales meeting is everything you spent in a year divided by the meetings held that year with decision-makers.
Use a year, since the first months distort monthly math:
- Annual cost (C). In-house: salary times 12, employer costs, commissions, tools, inboxes, domains, data and management hours. Agency: the setup fee plus 12 months of retainer, or the price per meeting times meetings.
- Ramp months (R). Months before full pace. In-house, add hiring time.
- Meetings per month (m). Outreach, times reply rate, times the share interested, times the share that book, times show rate.
- Meetings per year (M). m times (12 minus R), plus any meetings during ramp.
- Cost per meeting. C divided by M.
- Value (V). Gross profit from a new customer, times your close rate from a first meeting. While C divided by M stays below V, the math works.
No data for step 3 yet? Start from our campaign ranges, an 8% to 25% reply rate on email and 20% to 45% on LinkedIn (what counts as a good reply rate), and swap in your own later. Count only meetings that happened (on meeting show rates).
In-house team or agency: which is cheaper?
In my view, a good agency is cheaper per meeting in year one, since ramp and infrastructure are already behind it. An in-house team starts paying off once the message is proven and someone can manage it long term.
| In-house team | Agency | |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed cost | Salary and employer costs, even in a weak month | Retainer, per meeting, or a hybrid |
| Time to first meeting | Hiring, onboarding, infrastructure and ramp | Infrastructure and copy, no hiring |
| Control over the message | Full, day to day | Depends on seeing every message before it goes out |
| Audience knowledge | Stays while the SDR stays | Stays with you if every conversation and data point is open to you |
| Main risk | A departure resets the pace | A vendor writing in a tone that isn't yours |
| Fits when | The ICP and message are proven, and someone can manage | You're still testing a message, or need meetings fast |
The knowledge row decides what the next round costs. Before signing, ask an agency what you'll see, and what stays with you if you part ways.
What surprised me when I built the formula was R. A ramp month leaves the denominator while its cost stays in the numerator, so two vendors at one price, one sending after two weeks and one after two months, end up far apart.
Frequently asked questions
How much does outbound cost in Israel in 2026?
In-house, salary is most of it: ₪10,000-12,000 a month for a high-tech salesperson with one to three years of experience (Drushim, 2026), plus employer costs, tools and infrastructure. Compare that with agency proposals by cost per held meeting over a year.
How much does an outbound agency cost?
It depends on channels, volume and audience, so there's no single number. Turn each proposal into an annual cost, setup fee included, and divide by the meetings you expect.
What does the cost of an SDR include?
Base salary, commissions, employer costs, tools, management hours and ramp months. Payscale puts the average SDR base salary in Israel at ₪135,749 a year, as of December 2025.
What is pay per meeting?
The vendor is paid per meeting booked or held, in place of a monthly fee, with the weak-month risk priced in. Before signing, define in writing who counts as a decision-maker and what happens on a no-show.
How much does cold email infrastructure cost?
As of October 2026, a Google Workspace Business Starter inbox (annual commitment) or a Microsoft 365 Business Basic inbox costs $7 per user a month, and a .com domain at Porkbun $11.08 a year. Instantly Growth, for sending and warm-up, is $47 a month.
